DEPUTY CHIEF BRIAN FENNELLY

Brian will begin his 3rd year with the Chicago Police Enforcers Football team as the 4th head coach of the organization since its inception in 2006.  

Brian started playing football at the youth level in Park Ridge playing for the Park Ridge Falcons before playing his high school football at Maine South where he was team captain.  Brian then went on to play at North Central College where he was a four-year starter and team captain.  While at North Central, Brian also competed on the track team in both the shot put and discus.  In track, Brian was a two-time All American and discus National Champion.  He was also team captain for the 1994 National Championship team. Brian was inducted in the North Central College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017. 

After college, Brian coached the throwing events at Weber and Maine South high school before beginning his 9-year youth football coaching career with the Arlington Cowboys.  After a 27 year break from playing, Brian joined the Enforcers as a player in 2021.


​Brian has been a full time sworn police officer with the Morton Grove Police Department since 1999 and has been serving as Deputy Chief since 2009.  Brian also spent 13 years on the NIPAS Mobile Field Force team serving as team commander in his final 6 years with the team.


Brian is a graduate of the FBI National Academy session 261 and Northwestern School of Public Safety class 290.  He has also earned his Bachelor of Arts from North Central College in Accounting in 1994 and his Master of Science from Calumet College of St Joseph in Public Safety Administration in 2008.
